I know that a lot of you guys on here are always asking a lot of questions about different air ride suspensions, so I thought I would pass this along. I just received my Jan. 07 Hot Rod magazine and it has an awesome 10page article on everything you ever wanted to know about air ride. They give a really good overview of the technical side and there are a lot of pictures for those of you who hate to read. In either case if you are considering doing an air ride suspension or just want some good info its worth the tme and money to go get it. By the way it is the one with the red 69 mustang on the cover.

I bet it feature products from Air Ride Technologies in Indiana too, huh? You wouldn't happen to work for them, would ya?

If so, no thanks ... nothing personal, but I got no use for ART. They had their chance to sell to me, but chose to ignore me because I didn't have gray hair and a Mr. T "starter kit" of gold chains. My pocket full of money (brought over 400 miles to intentionally spend with them) went home with me that day.

With a bit of research and help on this board, I found out that there is much better stuff out there at half the price ... without the arrogance.

First off I would like to apologize on behalf of Air Ride Technologies if you had a bad experience. It is never our intention to make a customer feel as if they are inferior or "not worthy" of our time. We like to pride ourselves in customer service, innovation, and a quality product. In light of the situation I am not here to cause controversy or get into a flaming war with you or anyone else for that matter. I would just like to give out technical information to try and help out the members of this board. I, myself own and love Chevy trucks and that is my main purpose of being here. The article I mentioned in this thread does contain Air Ride Tech products but it is not limited to just that. It is a technical article that pertains to air ride suspension in general and that is the reason I felt it would help the members of the suspension forum. I would like to extend an invitation to you to give me a call sometime and maybe we can work things out, I am only looking to make good contacts here and hopefully help a few members out along the way.

No apology needed bro. After re-reading my first post I realize it was way more course than it should have been, and I apologize for that. It wasn't my intent to attack you personally.

This happened at the NSRA Nationals in Loo-ee-ville, which I realize is a busy show for you guys, but it seemed because I was younger and dressed more "casually" than most of the other folks perusing the booth that I wasn't given the chance to spend my money with you guys.

In light of the situation I am not here to cause controversy or get into a flaming war with you or anyone else for that matter. I would just like to give out technical information to try and help out the members of this board. I, myself own and love Chevy trucks and that is my main purpose of being here.

I know your not here to cause controversy, nor am I. But when I see more than one post in a given day where someone is peddling a product from a company that hasn't even taken the time to join as a vendor member, then it kinda rubbed me the wrong way, in light of my past situation.
I owe you an apology for being a bit course in my last reply. I am sure you do you best to help customers, unfortunately I was never given the opportunity to become a customer and still feel slighted because of it. Had I had the chance to speak with someone with the sort of attitude that you display here, then my truck would be riding on ART components exclusively.

I will be looking forward to that issue! I also have only run ART. kits and parts on all my bagged rides and have never had a problem with anything or anyone. I was also lucky enough to spend a few days at SEMA this year with your team at the OverHaulin tent and got alot of great info on some of your new products I am looking forward to trying out.

Shane, There are no hard feelings here and I don't feel like you attacked me personally. I would feel the same way and have felt the same way you do dealing with company reps before, it is sad that not everyone can always keep in mind who "really" writes their paychecks and treat them with the respect they deserve. In any case Tony and myself are here to help anyone out that has questions and we are more than happy to take the needed time to make sure that you all have the information that you want.

To answer a few of the other questions here:
Yes the 73-87 C-10 airbar is in the works, we have just begun the development on that system so it will probably be around the first of the year when we will have the product ready to ship. Believe me I am waiting paitiently for one as well for my 76.

All the sponsorship requests are handled by Tony, if you are interested your best bet is to contact him directly and he will get you all the information on what is needed to get that going.

Okay, so now I don't feel so bad! I got the blow off from a guy at Air Ride too. That's cool! One of the board members referred me to Chassis Tech, which was extremely helpful and greatful for my business. I highly recommend them. Thanks for the info Shane!

I have delt with ART for my chevelle, my truck and never had any bad service. I remember one time i called and spent about 30mins on the phone asking questions about different setups and then i didn't even buy anything from them and still got good customer service. That was partly the reason i spent so much $ with ART. I will buy from them again. They are a little expensive though. That is my only complaint!

Hey Shane that sucks that you got treated like that! Maybe you just caught someone that was having a bad day or that person was just a jack@$$.

It is actually a good technical article. The only thing specific to us is that they used a lot of our images for explanation....... Also, I have e-mailed someone here on the board about becoming a supporting sponsor. This is a good board and if it is feesable we will do what we can to help out

I went by the ART booth at the turkey rod run, nice setup you guys have.
I was a little disappointed with the dark hair guy, he really was not interested in showing me some products in the catalog, top that off with smoking while sitting at your "pulpit" in your display booth.
Kind of turned me off a bit...and not answering questions about my options other than strong arms, which I really like. Anyway, dude kinda just shoved a catalog at me and ignored me...and I really wanted to buy a t shirt!!!
Oh well...I don't want to flame ART either, I think you guys have the nicest setups out there, not the cheapest, but worth the $. So when is the 87 c10 airbar gonna be ready? You guys can use my truck as a guinea pig. I'll buy the beer.

I have never had a problem with AirRIdes service at all.. Tony has been on the Sportruck forum for a long time and always been there to help weather it was his products of not

The only thing you might have missed was the fact that Tony is still having problems coming out of the closet. I don't know if any of you know what Tony looks like, but just picture Richard Simmons with a goatee......you'll understand.
