value of 73-74 grill

Hi guys. 73-87 is not my particular specialty but I ended up with a 73-74 grill some how. I need to find the value of this grill. It is in real good shape with just one hair line crack, which one of the pics shows. It comes with the grille emblem, which I think may be the wrong one. And a 350 emblem with one stud missing. What is the value of this grille?
The part number is: GM PT#6262157.
Thanks again in advance for any knowledge.

I see those in the salvage yards alot, usually around 20-25, but yours has a really nice grille emblem, not faded at all. I bet it'll go for more.

Re: value of 73-74 grill

Thanks j hannah. I think you cant get these new anymore so when we were cleaning out my former employers shop I grabbed it thinking it might still have some use. I do see a few in junk yards but most are all busted up with lots of cracks and lots of missing parts. Thanks again.

That one looks to have a later model emblem mounted over the original location?!?!?

Re: value of 73-74 grill

Well considering i havent seen too many and a parts mega vendor like LMC doesnt even carry them you could probably get $90 or so from the right buyer. Just my $0.02

You beat my score, and I thought I did good! I got my NOS 73/74 grill for around $60. I saw one recently go for over $300.

I see 73/74 grills on eBay quite often, and more often than not, they are misadvertised as 73-80 grills. Also, I see quite a few of these get no bids at all, even with a $20 starting bid. I know a lot of it depends on their condition, but I don't think any used grill for our trucks will fetch more than $90-100. Just my opinion.

Re: value of 73-74 grill

Wedgemon, that is what I am thinking. It doesnt seem to cover right in the photo. The emblem on there is held on with 2 studs. But there are 2 slots that look like are for the correct emblem. I may pull it and see what the part # on the emblem is.

Boy mhicks, sounds like you really lucked out. I figured that if a place like lmc doesnt have it then they preeety much are long gone.

Thanks again.

The 73-74 grilles are not reproduced at all. If it is in good condition you could get $100 for it easy in my opinion.

Re: value of 73-74 grill

I have tried unsuccessfully at three local swapmeets to sell a 73-74 grille that needed a new bowtie for $20. I have considered just pitching it.

I think 73-74 is the only year that fits a 73-74.

I tried to sell one here on the board early last year for around $45, (I think), and nobody was interested. Still have it...

Re: value of 73-74 grill

I would like to a picture of these that are for sale. If it looks better than mine, I might be interested. It has one place on it at the bottom.

This is mine:

Re: value of 73-74 grill

Captikos, that one is pretty nice, I see the small chip on the lower part but I would live with it. It looks nicer than the one I have I was asking about in the first post, mine needs a serious cleaning! Hay does anyone have a pic of the correct emblem installed in there grill? Because it sounds like the one in my grill isnt the right one and if so I will remove it and sell it seperately, neither is for sale yet. I need to pull that emblem when the snow melts.

Your emblem is correct, my "350" and "454" emblems look identical...all of which are 73/74 emblems.

Re: value of 73-74 grill

I think the bowtie emblem is just a piece of embossed aluminum or tin? that is glued to the grille.
