Stance question
I have a '71 GMC ½-ton. I wanted to drop it a couple of inches, but nothing drastic because of the area where I live. I was looking at getting a 2/4 kit from Early Classic. I have leaf springs, by the way. I wanted to keep the truck at a level stance, but it just occurred to me, will putting a 350 SB in place of the original I6, will that cause the front to drop even more? Or will I be fine with the 2/4 kit? The kit also comes with new shocks as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just did not want to put it down and find out that I still would not be level.

Re: Stance question
The springs for the 2/4 kit should come with V8 springs, so the front should be fine. One thing a lot of people have noticed is a 2" drop spring might not drop your truck at all because your stock springs might have 2" of sag. So the new 2" drop springs might equal close to how your truck sits now. Just a heads up on that.

Re: Stance question
That is something that I had not thought of. The springs on the truck look pretty sturdy, at least compared to the couple of donors that we brought in. Not that anybody knows this, but any idea what length I would be looking at for a stock spring? I could measure what is on the truck now. I guess I could email the company and find out the length of the drop springs.
