middle crossmember
I was gonna order a drive shaft loop from summit for my drive shaft. my middle crossmember where on trailing arm suspension the arms connect is cut out on the bottom to accomodate a one piece drive shaft on my 70gmc that is lowered.
My question is if i order this bolt in driveshaft loop ( have to order it to be legal at my track). Can i just drill te rivets out andtake out that old crossmember. or will it weaken the frame to much? Please let me know asap thanks |

Re: middle crosmember
I'd think it would weaken the frame too much. I'd leave it as it is and then figure somethin else out, I'm at the same step as you, except I have a 2 piece shaft but I need loops as well so I can run at the track too.

Re: middle crossmember
I dont understand why the bottom would be cut out on a lowered truck. Minw always rubbed the top. If you cut it out you should definately reinforce it with another crossmember.
