Largest Stock Tire Size For 72 K5?

Hey Members, I am considering buying stock 16" wheels like bouncy has. I want to determine if 16" wheels came stock from GM on the 72 K5 and if so what largest stock tire option was offered. I need this info for the following two reasons:

1. I want to install the tallest tires option GM originally offered but do not want to worry about rubbing.
2. COSTCO will not warranty tires if I can not provide GM data stating this size tire was an original stock option.

Any help would be appreciated.

I thought they came with 16.5 as the option not 16's but I am not 100% sure

When I bought my 72 Chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 truck new (in 1972), I remember 10.50x 15" was the largest tire the factory would offer me (should be the same for 1/2 ton Blazer). I bought my truck with the smallest tires offered and put 12.00x 16.5 after-market tires & rims; and I remember it was a big no-no at the time. They would rub in the front a little, but only when I was backing up and turning just-so. Also I remember the 16.5 rims didn't hold the tire bead very well and would pop-the-bead easily if the tire pressure was down while 4-wheeling. At least that's what I remember, I'll see if I can find my original paperwork for the truck... I have it somewhere here.

After pulling out my original sales literature from when I bought my truck, it seems the you and Pound41 are right. The largest tubless tire offered as an option was a 10.00 16.5C (funny, I don't remember it that way). I have a brochure for a 73 blazer that also confirmed that tire size. Sorry for my bad memory. Now that I've found all my brochures, let me know if there is any other info that you need.
