Re: airbags not on trailing arm pics

The only other place to mount them is the axle and that doesn't make much sense unless you're doing a bridge.

Any reason NOT to mount them on the trailing arm? It only seems logical to mount an "air spring" where the coil spring was.

Yes, the main reason if you want to get low is that in the stock location you are limited to the compressed height of the bag between the trailing arm and the frame. In that location w/ a 27" and a 20" wheel, you're just barely tucking rim. And that's not very low.....Trust me, you're gonna be happy with your truck at its current aired-out height for about 3 months and then it's gonna be time to re-do everything. Better order that dropmember from Nathan now.

That's not even funny. I am very tempted to order a dropmember, but there are a million other things I need to get done first. I will be ordering my tubular arms this month though.

My truck will be about 3" lower when I get the arms installed and redo the back. Maybe by the time I get sick of the height then, Nathan will have the back half kit done and I'll just start all over

its amazing that we all shop for the best price to lower our trucks, yet it seems that before we complete the job or shortly after we are spending more to change it and lower more. i wonder what some of these lowered trucks really cost when the owner was completly satisfied. there must be a ton of left over parts out there.

this is so true. I'm going through the same thing now. "Live and learn" is my only way to explain it. Because I'm a first timer, that's the way it goes no matter how many questions you ask. It's only at the point of you actually doing it is when you completely understand the dynamics of a lowered suspension. I've changed my rear setup twice now. Those extra parts are piling up!

You can bet if I end up going something like a C4 conversion later on, I will sell off everything of value.

All the stuff I pulled off it so far is headed for the recycle yard.
