lowering the rear
i lowered the front of my 76 with 2" drop springs now i want the rear down 3" i was thinking a 2" shackle and remove a leaf. what do yall think.

Lowering blocks won't work on a leaf spring suspension because the factory position for the spring perch is on top of the axle. Unless the axle is flipped to the bottom (which would drop the truck about 5"), any block installed between the axle and the spring will raise the truck. This is a pretty common way to put a rear lift kit on a 4x4.[/QUOTE]

pulling a leaf might give you more than an inch, but you could always play with the shackle either at the 1" spot or 2" spot, the better way to go i think would be 2" hangers and 1" on the shackle.
