Trailer wiring harness
I have one hooked up, but haven't used it for quite awhile. Hooked a multimeter to it (don't have a trailer handy) and it shows 4 volts when the lights are on and 4 volts each time the light blinks.(4 prong plug testing each prong) Are 4 volts correct or should it read closer to 12 volts.

Re: Trailer wiring harness
Thanks. I guess I should buy a new one and rewire. It's probably corroded at the clamp splice that was put on years ago.

Re: Trailer wiring harness
Ya, I was reading about them with the search function earlier. There was a Napa part number listed. I didn't quite understand how they worked, but with your explaination of the plug it has become clear.
![]() Thanks again, I'll check it out.

Re: Trailer wiring harness
Okay, I was looking under the truck and I see where the harness has a plug going through the frame. So the adaptor goes here? Any trick to unplugging this? Just pull apart? Thanks.
