my power steering pump and my steering box are both leaking...

what would the best bet be for fixing/replacing them?

after these are fixed, there will be no more leaks on my truck!

oc,check your hoses on the pump,if it still leaks just get a rebuilt.i bought one the other day for 49.00 including pulley swap.as far as the box,if it isn't connections it probably shaft seals.do a search,i've seen it on here somewhere.might even be in the faq truck tech.

its the seals, as it is leaking from the shaft and not the fittings. its not an awful leak, but enough to leave a small puddle under them when the truck is parked

They can be rebuilt, but ....
If you want easiest, you can buy a rebuilt one.

I agree.
I went out and bought a rebuilt pump. It actually would have cost more to buy the pump without the reservoir (reuse the existing reservoir) and the seal kit. Plus, the effort of swapping out the reservoir.

What area of your steering box is leaking? They do sell seal kits for the pitman arm shaft and the input shaft. I had to replace the seals on the input shaft and it wasn't too bad. Talk to the folks at westtexasoffroad about this. Their products are as good or better than AGR and less $.

I replaced my pump a while back. It wasn't difficult, but it took longer than I expected because you have to swap all of the fittings off the back of the old pump to the new one.

Also, the pulley is pressed on. I bought a cheap puller from harbor freight to do the pulley because mine was bent. I needed one to take to a junkyard. Your auto parts store might loan them out, but mine didn't (or the idiots that worked there didn't know what I was talking about, like usual...).

I don't know anything about the box. Mine was replaced by the PO right before I bought it.
