I`m wonder what value I could put on a desireable 4.10 HO52 rebuilt hub to hub, everything new.Everything, including an Inline Tube stainless brakeline and freshly installed factory Detroit Locker.

Re: Wiw:ho52
I'd say good luck selling it. I know alot of the dd/street crowd are looking for 4.11's to replace their 4.57's, but they probably wouldn't want a Detroit on the street. And the offroaders would like the detroit, but want deeper gears.
Especially with the new brake stuff on there, I don't think there is a way you could sell it and even get half of what you invested back. Good luck

Re: Wiw:ho52
I`m not selling it.I`m selling the truck it`s under. It`s one of those things you can talk about all day but can`t see.For an on-off road truck which covers more than 95% out there. The 4.10s are all the lower you need with 35s,which the truck has.I just want to be prepared with a value when the low-ballers come around. All I hear is how sought after all these things are.Lockers are a tough find and so are 4.10s.I`m thinking $1,000.It`s under a truck with alot of other great options for a K/20:4spd tilt, tach, stowage compartment, aux.tank, dual batteries, manual throttle, tow hooks, block heater in a Highlander with CustomCamper pkg.The truck is in original paint with minmal rust and dents.
Around here tie-kickers want shiney and may have a hard time understanding just what a rare gem this tuck is,in need of a light resto.

Re: Wiw:ho52
I just want to say,"that`s a $1,000 axle you`re looking at there",when selling the truck.I will, anyway.I was just looking for confirmation from the rest of you all.
Maybe it should be a WhatWouldYouDo question, instead.I could swap-in a 14-bolt and keep it.I was planning to keep the truck, but life has changed.I have a set of K/30 axles in 4.10 and was planning to put the D60 under the front. Now,I`m building a shortbed (`71 frame) K/30 with my parts.I`d really like to swap therear out,but may not get a chance. The truck is my blue & white one.I don`t have pictures since I lifted it and don`t have a camera right now.I put 6"TuffCountry springs,Wterrains, and white wagon wheels on it.I went with wagon whels for a less pretentious look and it looks right on an unrestored truck.I`m trying to get ahold of a camera.

Special K :
Nice unit. Where do you live in Mt. Airy, and for how long. My brother lived there a few years back, now closer in to Baltimore. I plan to go visit him soon, possibly this week, just thought I'd get a proximity of how far from I-70. LILREDGMC |

Re: Wiw:ho52
Experts,Know-it-alls,opinion-casters,any input???If I get better soon,I`d like to swap it out.I think the general public would like the idea of a later-model axle anyway and it won`t effect what they`ll pay for the truck.
I just haven`t decided which set of K/30 axles to use on the project. One set is 4.10 and the other 4.56.The 4.56 has Locker/TruTrac.I was wanting the 4.10 ratio.Don`t really want to get into switching the posi units, either. I`m leaning towards the 4.56s in this project(6`Fenderside),now that I decided to part my `91 Suburban and use the 4L80e/NP241.So,that`s that. But,I still could swap the 4.10 14-bolt in to keep the HO52 and maybe sell the 4.10 Dana60fr alone.14-bolts are everywhere.Just like me,most people buy the set to get the Dana60fr.This just adds to the cost of aquiring the front axle. I know this is pretty babbled. That`s why I`m open to other`s thoughts.I have alot on my plate (trucks and otherwise).

Re: Wiw:ho52
I guess I am confused as to why you are asking what parts of it are worth if you're selling it?
Do you have any pictures of the truck? Sounds like a pretty sweet ride.
