What parts aren't out there? *Updated pics*
Trying to find new product ideas. If there are parts that aren't available now that you'd like to see made; or those you'd like to see improved please let me know.
So far I've had a number of requests for the '67-'72 auxillary battery tray and a couple for the '67-'68 grille. Anything else? Last edited by jb4short; 03-12-2007 at 04:32 AM. |

Re: What parts aren't out there?
Absolutely a must!! I travelled 400 miles one way to get the bed parts I needed. I would have GLADLY paid truck freight to get new parts.

Re: What parts aren't out there?
Another vote for LWB bedsides. Definitely understand the shipping challenges...but heck, I'd pay some additional cash for a wooden crate with the bedsides carefully mounted. I've been surprised that the new fenders I bought were just basically stuffed in a (reasonably heavy) cardboard box!

Re: What parts aren't out there?
Or at least bed floor patch panels that match the rib spacing contours.

Re: What parts aren't out there?
Steel bed floor for short fleet box? Bedsides for long box? Good 72 door panels

Re: What parts aren't out there?
The shortbed floor assembly I've had requests for; I think this would be an excellent item.
The longbed peices I'm aware of (we've got a '70 lwb out in the yard here that could ALSO use a set of bedsides). The biggest issue on these items becomes getting them from point "A" to point "B" intact. There are certainly enough of the trucks out there to justify making the parts. What is the issue with the current '72 door? |

even if such a service cost an extra $50-75 (hell im just reaching there) to ship, id glady pay the premium to have nice panels shipped in a safe manner. hell even if you just made em available and they still couldnt be freighted safely... id bet people would show up to pick them up themselves. Re: What parts aren't out there?
Longbed sides,
all the cab parts mentioned, dash board. A complete q-jet air cleaner housing with no PCV hole or Thermac on the snorkle (would be easy to add though for those that need it and you could also sell a ton of these to the Impala/Nova/Chevelle guys). A 67-68 grill. I've seen a 69-72 firewall being made, but what about the 67-68? Auto trans. housing, dial and pointer for non-tilt 67-70's, and the fiber optic cable. 67-68 steering wheels in colors other than black. A good bushing kit for the manual and auto column shift linkages.

Re: What parts aren't out there?
what he said.
i'm only interested in the LWB steel floor, and would gladly play to get it shipped. my guess is that you could repro one fairly cheaply, keeping material costs down, knowing that customers will have to pay a good chunk for shipping. |
