I'm pretty new to all this, this is my very first project truck and i was wondering what is the gear ratio and what do i need to do when i get a new tranny in there as regards to the gear ratio and getting that set up with the differential and drive shaft? i'm lookin at either a TH350 Or TH400 for my 67 c10, i'm getting a new 350 in there it has a 283 curently.

You'll have to figure out what ratio you have. If you just want to cruise at or around hiway speeds a 3.08 gear is a good choice. If you want to use an o/d tranny a 3.73 may be a better choice.

If you're a swapping tranny's anyway I would suggest you look at the 700R4 to get OD.It will give you a little better milage with the same gearing or allow you to run the 3:73's and still cruise hiway.
