Name Dat Grill

What year grill does this look like? I want to do my LWB just like it. I think it's clean and simple. Which bezel would you guys go with GREY or CHROME?

if your talking about the truck in your sig i would say gray. I think the chrome ones would only look good on darker colors and if you go with that grill the gray will match it better and the chrome will look out of place IMO.

Probably one of the overseas made replacement grills. Check in LMC for it.

its an aftermarket grille, thats why there are no provisions for a bowtie. even the lower line trucks got a grille with a bowtie (or GMC logo) in them, and none from the factory were just decals.

Re: Name Dat Grill

the aftermarket often doesnt have the chevy logo as they dont pay for the rights.

Like someone already stated, its a cheapy after mrkt, but i do agree that it looks clean. i prefer to show off the bowtie ; ) silly chevy pride i guess haha

Re: Name Dat Grill

Well my current grill is GMC. It looks better than a broken chevy grill, but the truck is not a GMC. LMC sell the Repo for $60. Thats the one I'll go with along with the grey bezels as mine are cracked and the wrong color. This should give me a stock, clean looking I'm looking for. I wonder what problems I'll run into mounting the turn/parking lights?

na u shouldnt sent for a 1986 grill like in my 1986 is the same spot as urs in the gmc. just u may break the clips off the gmc grill unscrewing the turn signal light bezels but that no big deal cause u got another grill.

Re: Name Dat Grill

That is the 85-87 single headlamp grille. The trucks with the dual headlamps had body color and chrome inserts, and a raised area for the bowtie. As stated, it looks to be an aftermarket copy.

The grilles are interchangeable, just styled differently. Of course, you would have to use the correct headlight bezel according to which headlamp setup you have. The 81-82 and 83-84 dual headlamp grilles have the center moldings extended through the headlamp bezels, the 85-87 do not.

You sure thats for a single headlight? I thought that since the single HL had a physically bigger bulb that the upper grill portion was bigger than the lower portion. That way the center of the grill mated to the center of the bezel.
Not %100 but pretty sure this is the case.
I would agree that it is an aftermarket grill.

The center grilles will interchange; you just have to use the correct corresponding headlamp bezels. If you look at the single headlamp bezels, they are a lot smaller around the headlamp than the dual headlamp bezels are (like on the truck above).

Re: Name Dat Grill

Might not have turn signals at all? All I can think of is modifying an H4 low beam headlight to have a yellow bulb in the corner of it if thats even possible without messing up the light pattern. I think you could also use the small rectangle yellow marker lights used on trailers behind the grill but I don't see any in the pic.
