Hello from Lo-Cal
Hey everyone! I joined up about a week or so ago after lurking around for a few months and thought it was time. I stick mostly to the 67-72 forum, lots of good info there for me.
I have a '68 GMC 3/4 fleet side Custom Camper, 396 w/TH400. It's been in the family for about 30 years, I got it from my dad when he was gonna let it go. (junk it) I just had to save it. Been riding in/driving it for 30yrs, and you could say I have an emotional attachment to it. |

Re: Hello from Lo-Cal
As a matter of fact I do.. I crunched the fender when I was in highschool and my father never wanted to fix it. It's been like that for almost 20 years. She needs some TLC, but is my favorite driver. I've got a 454 in the garage waiting to be rebuilt cause the 396 is getting a bit tired. It's got about a half million on it since it was rebuilt in '71

Re: Hello from Lo-Cal
Right on! That truck looks just like mine did, I even had the same fender ding from my neighbor across the street. I kinda miss the way my truck looked, all those dents had a story to go with them. Love all those miles that you got on her, a true daily driver (and weekly, monthly, yearly and decade driver, too.)
Welcome from another longtime owner of a '68 Longbed here in CA. You got a few years to get it ready for your daughter to drive. She should be able to put on a million miles before the next one starts driving, huh?
