More Progress on Lil' Red, two steps forward, three steps back.
Sunday was a day of cowl /fender fitting, aligning the hood gaps and a day of compromises. I could squeese the life out of my first painter for not test fitting everything prior to his paint he layed down. With aftermarket fenders, inner fenders and hood, original cowl and radiator support and doors....there is some reall fitment issues and compromises that you will encounter. We nicked the edge of the cowl with the hood when closing and opening for gaps. So I've got some touch up issues. Also when aligning do not do it while the truck is on jack stands! When I set it back on it's wheels and suspention the gaps changed...so I still need to dink with the cowl and hood. The hood gaps with the fenders are not as tight as I would have liked them but like I said compromises will have to be made. She's going to end up a very nice looking girl...just have to keep pluggin' a putting her back together. Doors and finish her one piece power windows is next.
Here is what she looks like with the cowl and hood down , Chrome rally's with derby caps.

It is a fine looking rig...and when you are all done...it will be nice.
I was just through Westminster last week...did a road trip from Salt Lake to Denver - 7 hours through lots of goat pasture. Tim

We were meeting a client at the Westin Tabor center. We did stop at the Cracker barrel in Longmont.
Next time I sure will give you a call. I would love to see your rig...of course I was not driving mine. We went in my buddy's BMW. It was a smooth ride.

I have to tell you...I really like the engine compartment. I bet you do not need a light at night to see the corners of that one.

Compromises; that is so true. I just chased gaps around until I decided some had to be a little bigger than I wanted to make other gaps work.

Bigsky, Do you live around Kalispell?? I used to work for Semitool and spent some time up there. IMO it's one of the best places on earth! Jim in NC. 72 short fleet.

I still need a drool cup every time I see your truck. You should be proud of the craftsmanship!

If you look at all original trucks you will see the factory did alot of compromising. Your truck looks great. More pictures when you are done, please.

Re: More Progress on Lil' Red, two steps forward, three steps back.
Thanks again all you guys!!! More pics ...yes as things get done...will do! The silver is Rustoleum rattle can Hammered Silver. Every part that was black from the factory is now hammered silver...that was the theme I decided on.

Looks great, my truck is torch red too but not that nice of a paint job. Are there any Gatorhyde dealers in Texas?
