flip kit or shackles and hangers?

just wonderin if i shoul go with a flip kit for my 85 gmc half ton or shackles and hangers? if i go with the flip kit, does the frame have to be notched?

Well,a shackle &hanger is a 4" drop, & does not need a notch. A flip will net you 5-6" of drop, & will for sure need a frame notch(especially if you plan to haul some weight from time to time.... L
