what have you done with rubbing

i just put dropspindles on my truck and no i rub not to bad but i still rub and i am at a 4 inch backset with stock rims its just barely rubing they are 15"s


if i went to 18" would i still have this?
if i use spacer the wheel studs are to short how hard is it to change them?

and what did you guys do to get rid of this

mind the spelling i just got up

What's rubbing? The tire or the wheel? If it's the wheel do you have drums or discs?

on the lip of the rim its not so bad no that the wheel weights have been knocked off but it still rubs
frist pic is driver side second is pass

Switching to 18's helps but the problem will still exist when using alot of back spacing.

We used regular van ralleys that are 15x6.5" when we dropped my buddies 92 w/3" BellTech spindles & they did not rub.

Drop spindles indicate he has disc brakes because they don'y make them for drum brake applications.

Wannabelow, you'll need to trim the lip on the lower a-arm if you are rubbing on the wheel. Also, w/certain offset wheels, you will rub when getting close to a full lock turn when using drop spindles.... it's something you have to get used to.

also sinch i only did the 2 in the rear will that still bugger up the pinon sp? angle?should i put the drive line kit in?

Shouldn't effect it but the only way to know for sure is to drive it around @ different speeds & see if there's driveline vibration. Do this after you get your front wheels re-balanced.

All you need to do is like Scoti said. Bust out that grinder and just shave some off the lower control arm where it is making contact with your wheel. If you go up to 18" wheels it will eliminate the problem until you are at full lock at the steering wheel or close to it. Every truck is different. It's kind of a trial and error thing. Nothing major, but I'd fix the problem now or you're going to get into bigger issues driving down the road like it is.

Belltech sends you an instruction sheet in the box with the spindles. It describes this, tells you to expect it, and shows you where and how much to grind the arms. Do it whether you go 18's or not, some cold rainy day you may have to install a spare tire and you'll wish you'd taken care of the issue in the first place.

Read the instructions in your spindle box.

yeah i did it today just turmed the tire all the way the marked about a inch from it all the way and now i got lost of room

i just noticed today that when i go over a bump at a faster speed the outer side wall rubs on the outer fender and is chewing up the rubber rims are a stock 15

would a shorter shock with less travle fix this or do i need some rims with different back spacing?

When i installed my ECE 2.5 drop spindle my wheel weights rubbed the a-frame. All I had to do is put stick on weights on and pull the clamp style weights off and it fixed my problem

yeah i have allready fixed that problem and done what you have said but now mu rubber rubs on the outer fender lip right above the tire

I had just spindles with 275/60x15s on 8" Corvette ralley wheels that cleared fine until I also added 2" springs. I just went back to a 7" wheel and a 235/70x15 tire and it has good clearance. My wheels are Wheel Vintiques and are availible with different backspacings though. Same as you, I had to trim the lower control arms but tried to keep it to a minimum!

It's a common problem with the 88-98 generation trucks.

You can either run a narrower rim or roll the inner fender lip.

I went to van 15x7 ralleys with the 8" trim rings, looks great, doesn't rub
