Are you committed to the full grille insert?

i like the phantom because i have single square headlight and i think that the marker looks like crap so id like to hide it behind the grille

Re: Are these any good?

That particular phantom grille looks terrible to me for several reasons:

It doesn't fit worth squat.....look at the pictures. It should be sitting flush with the edges of the fenders and leading edge of the hood but it's sticking out. There are gaps all around and especially near the top of the hood.

When done right those grills look cool, but it takes a little more work than that. Don't waste your money on that. For that much money you can probably scrounge up parts to convert to a stock grill/headlight setup that you actually like. I assume you do like the quad headlight setup ?

Then maybe they don't want to sell that many? You'd think they would use a pic that shows good fit and quality. Either way it looks really bad without the trim.

Re: Are these any good?

I have mounted two of the full billet grilles in a couple of trucks, one in my 84 and one in my son's 86. I had no fitment issues and the grilles are of two different brands. True, it takes a little time to make it fit, but that is not a bad thing. As for the plastic grilles redone, everyone for their own "pot of Tea". I have seen some really crappy mods in my time. I have also seen some really great ideas, too.

A Stull brand phantom grille from Summit Racing is around $222.00 plus shipping and if you don't like it, you can send it back.

Re: Are these any good?

Mine fits good but I am not crazy about the night driving with the headlights blocked so much.

I run mine at night without any problems. I have found no issue with the headlights being behind the grille. It works great.
