Need advice on Truck please.
I have the oppurtunity to buy a 67 small back window longbed 3/4 ton from a local j-yard for a good price. The tailgate is in pretty good shape (couple of small dents on top, no real rust to speak of). This truck has a coil rear, but the interesting part is what I'm listing next. It is a factory A.C. cab small back window, with rust in the floor pans and rockers. The doors also have some rust. It has power brakes, and power steering. It originally had a 327 and a th350, but the 327 has been replaced I think. Factory inted glass and uncut dash with gauge package. The front fenders are a little rusted, inners looked good, but the front grill looks pretty good, hood looks decent. This truck appears to be a loaded out 67 3/4 truck. All the A.C. stuff is there except for the compressor. I don't know what rear it is, but it is 8 lug coil. The door panels are original vinyl with good armrests. It also has a strange factory looking torque cable attached to the drivers exhaust manifold by bracket with a factory looking bracket on the frame connected by thick cable.
My wife is probably on the verge of divorcing me if I buy this truck. My question is... can I actually sell the cab and possibly make a little money on this deal to finance my project? Is the cab "uncommon" because of the small back window and A.C. and Poower brakes/steering? I want to keep some of the inside stuff, but don't need the front or the cab. Is there money to be made, or should I just let it slide on by? Sorry I didn't have any pics of the glovebox, or of the truck. Should I get it? Shawn

Re: Need advice on Truck please.
actually the cable was a factory recall to limit the torque movement of the engine // i still see NOS ones listed on occasion on ebay// it was also a very common trick the hotrodders used back in the 50's and 60's to prevent jamming up the clutch linkage during full throttle power shifting

Re: Need advice on Truck please.
I'll tell this.. the truck is between the 300 and 400 range. To the owner it is just an old truck he bought because he says he buys anything, and didn't want to be a liar when this person showed up.

Re: Need advice on Truck please.
I wouldn't think there would be very many 67's with air, The motor hold down cable was part of a recall, GM dealer installed (I have a couple around here somewhere still in boxes, but they are both for a/c trucks and i don't have any A/C trucks.....
If the price is right, and it won't put you in the poor house for too long, load it up and take it home.
