Re: Got some new wheels

Looks really good with the new rims. I see you got rid of the black paint on the front bumper, 100% improvement there. Are you going to change the grill or leave it black?

Yeah, I'm gonna get new front and rear bumpers (chrome). The PO wire wheeled the bumpers and outer grill and painted flat black

I am going to strip the paint off of the grill and see how it polishes up. I like the chrome shiny look myself.

You actually saw it in person so you know what it looks like up close. I dont know what the PO was thinking when he did it

I don't know what he was thinking either. I had already planned to replace the bumper and grill surround if I bought it. I was going to just paint the egg crate part a silver of some sort, depending on the condition.

You will have it looking like I was planning to in short order..... I'm jealous

Re: Got some new wheels

Rims sure do make the difference don't they? Big improvement from the 8 inchers.
My brother tried the "Easy-Off" oven cleaner trick on a grille surround to remove the anodizing. It worked real well and he was able to buff to a nice chrome like shine afterwards. I'm assuming it would remove the black paint as well. You may have to sand afterwards with some fine grit depending on what it looks like under the paint.
Oh yeah, don't spray Easy-Off anywhere near your Blazer. It will remove your paint for sure.

Nice.... did you have to level out the rear? And what kind of lift did you go with?
