Re: blazer towing
I bought a 72 chevy bouchere on ebay that has a 2 page "1972 Wagon trailering Recomendations" that gives some specs for suburbans, blazers, vans and station wagons. I will take it to work tomorrow to scan it and then try to post it. It may be better if you send me an email address to send you a larger more readable copy.

Re: blazer towing
Jamie, you shold be able to tow 1K lbs with no problem. the weight and size of the trailer only becomes an issue with blazers due to the short wheel base--not the power capability. Short wheel base vehicles do not handle towing large heavy loads very well---its all about handling. Your blazer can make a very short u-turn verses a long wheel base truck. That tight turning radius is magnified when towing. Jeeps are another perfect example--they have plenty of tow power with their HO4ltr 6 but their short wheel base make towing anything but a small trailer a bit hairy. Huck

Re: blazer towing
I've used my Blazer to tow a 16' flatdeck trailer with four quads (about 4500lbs.) No issues. I would recommend trailer brakes for anything over 2000lbs.

Re: blazer towing
I've routinely towed a car trailer w/a full size car behind my Blazer w/no problems. However, the PO was a little insane and had this massive ultra heavy duty hitch welded to it so he could tow his 30 ft cabin cruiser from Spokane to Seattle... (about 600 miles round trip)
