i have rear leaf spring and i want to drop it. Is the axle flip and c-notch the only way to go and is that a 6" drop?

Re: rear drop
try finding somebody local that makes springs/ you might just be able to get springs built with reversed eyes at a cheaper price

Re: rear drop
The c-notch is only going to provide clearance for the axle after it is dropped... It has nothing to do with the drop itself. As far as the flip goes, it should give you about 5.5". The nice thing about flipping the axle is that you are not changing the function of the rear suspension at all. You are merely taking the axle from the bottom of the spring and putting it on top. You will, however, need to make sure you get your pinion angles right and you will need a set of shorter shocks.

Re: rear drop
I just did a Axel flip on my 67.Mine turned out to be closer toa 6.5 " drop. EDIT there is only 1 1/4 " of travel. Adding the notch wil give you a extra 1 3/4" before the axel hits the wood floor . If you have a steel floor you have a extra 1/2" before the axel hits the floor. They make the notch way too big.
