Purple Hornies Sounds.......
I went with the Hornies and got them on yesterday. The aren't as loud as I thought they would be and they don't sound like Flowmasters so I am a pretty happy camper. Seems that I always like the sound of other trucks but never like the sound of mine. I'm ok with them for now. They really get louder when you gas it.
Oh and got oil on my coated headers while adjusting the valves. That will be fun trying to clean off. Last edited by Mudder; 05-02-2007 at 08:22 PM. |

Re: Purple Hornies Sounds.......
I always figured they were just purple-painted glasspacks.

Re: Purple Hornies Sounds.......
They don't really sound like glasspacks. I can't stand the sound of those. It's more of a low rumble and I'm not sure how I can do a soundclip. I may have to ask my daughter about that.
The headers are the same coating as Jet Hot and I will be using a gray scotch brite pad to clean them. After that I will go over them with some California Customs Purple aluminum cleaner/polish. Last edited by Mudder; 05-02-2007 at 11:06 PM. |

Re: Purple Hornies Sounds.......
I got to hear them on a friends car. he put them right after the headers on a 350. Nothing after.
They where a little loud for my taste that way, but whats nice is.... they do seem to muffle most the noise till you go wot.
