Three little letters are making me fell dumb...PCV
I know all about what a PCV system is for and for the most part how it works, and until today I thought I knew how one was supposed to be hooked up. What has me stumped is when looking through the installation manual for my Edelbrock 1406 carb it shows the 3/8 inlet on the front of the carb as being for the PCV. I have never came across a PCV system that was hooked through the carb. All I've ever seen was a PCV valve on top of the valve cover and connected to the bottom side of the air cleaner. So can anyone tell me what the inlet on the front of the carb is for and how it is supposed to be hooked up.
In case anyone is wondering here is a link that shows the inlet on the carb (you have to scroll down a bit): http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_.../1000/1406.pdf

Mine is on the back of the carb, but its a holley. All the PVC needs is a vacume port to pull the crankcase excess pressure and or smoke out of the block.

The pipe that hooks to the air cleaner is for the fresh air drawn into the crankcase. The PCV valve has to be connected to a vacume source i.e. bottom of carb to work.

This picture show's my PVC connected to a carb adaptor plate using a port on the adaptor plate as a vacuum source. There are area's as well at the back of the intake where you can use various fittings that allow one a source of vacuum.
I'm using a Edelbrock Performer Intake & a Holley carb. esll.

the pcv hooks up to the port on the bottom of the front of the carb and the brakebooster line hooks up to the port on the bottom of the back of the carb(stock quadrajet and intake)

I'm using an Edelbrock, took off air cleaner so you can see PCV.

Re: Three little letters are making me fell dumb...PCV
Ok but if I have the PCV valve in one valve cover, and the PCV Breather in the other valve cover, where do i put my oil in? I only have one hole in each valve cover. Would I have to take out the PCV valve and put oil in through there?
LOL! I just realized I put 'fell' instead of 'feel'. Now I really feel dumb!!
