OE Paint scheme images
I am looking for images of the factory paint schemes. Some had just the lower portion a different color (like mine was originally) others had the bottom and behind the cab etc..
The one I am looking for is where the "off color" included the hood and the upper portion of the cab and front fender. (and that scheme may be late 70's) I have googled ever way I can think of. Any Help? |

Re: OE Paint scheme images
I believe the paint job you are describing is a 1985 only scheme.
A "stripe" begins on the upper body line a few inches from the front of the front fender. The lower edge of the "stripe" is even with the upper body line and goes all the way around the truck, including across the tailgate. The upper edge is about 6" higher than the lower edge and runs parallel until it gets behind the door then it turns straight up and goes over the top of the cab. The end result is the lower 2/3 of the body is one color. The upper third of the bed, the inside of the bed and the rear of the cab are another color along with a stripe that runs to the front of the truck. The top edge of the stripe rounds down and meets with the lower edge of the stripe. I've liked that scheme especially in a silver and black combo with the red pin stripe. It would be easier to describe with a picture... ***EDIT - best I could find was on 73-87.com and its a little different than I described here.***

Re: OE Paint scheme images
PS, what is your avatar of? Looks like an under shot of someone firing a machine gun from a copter?
