Got a 1983 C30 dually!
Finally found a one ton! It's a 1983 Custom-Deluxe-30 crewcab dually chassis-cab. Has the factory 4 bolt 350 that might be junk, 4 speed, and a Dana 70 rear w/ 4.10's. The wheelbase? 164.5 inches! I was told the engine might have a blown head gasket, it looked like there was a little water in the oil judging by the dipstick. I'll probably have to rebuild the engine if it's not completely trashed. It has the original tan paint with a local welding shop name on both front doors, which is very cool! The body is in awesome shape, with the exception of some scale rust around the inner door frames, and the back of the cab where the roofline is sealed above the window has a little rust. The interior(saddle color) is OK, just needs to be cleaned up and the front seat needs a seat cover. It has A/C that is there and was working. Manual locks and windows, exactly what I was looking for and all the glass is there. The windshield has some cracks but it ain't bad. It has good tires all around so that'll save me some money right off the bat. Front's are 7.5-16LT highway and all four rears are 7.5-16LT traction. Front tires are about halfway decent and the rears are almost new. Right now the truck doesn't have a bed, but I have a welding bed to put on the back that has new marker and stop/tail lights so it'll be good to go. I'll get pics of it tomorrow, hopefully I'll be able to get the title signed over too.

Well turns out it's actually a 1985. It has single headlights so it was kind of confusing, I don't know much about the 73-87's. Waiting on a call from the PO about the title, but I have the keys to it!

Keys are good, title is necessary.

Re: Got a 1983 C30 dually!
Well I thought this would happen. The PO doesn't want to have to mess with signing the title over, they just want to give me a bill of sale. I'm not sure i'll buy it now until I talk to 'em again. That would be hell trying to apply for a new title, I don't wanna do that again!

Re: Got a 1983 C30 dually!
Around here the only thing the PO needs to do is sign the title and give it to you, it is then yer responsibility to take it to Secretary of State and get it transferred to yer name - when I got my truck the owner handed me the signed title and wrote up a bill of sale, then like 3 months later the whole ordeal of transferring it took me the total of like 2 hours. Down in TX, does the PO need to be present with you in the Secretary of State?
