Re: A/C, and some info PLEASE
Yes you can put A/C on your truck but it won't be cheap. Some of the site vendors and supporters have them. You can buy most any part you need for your bed also but your best bet would be to find a bed from the Southwest that is rust free. Watch our parts for sale area and FAQ section and you might get lucky.

Re: A/C, and some info PLEASE
With enough money, anything is possible.
There are A/C units available for your truck. Check out the aftermarket A/C manufacturers that are listed in Rod and Custom, for instance. Vintage Air is but one. As for the bed, short wheelbase Fleetside bed parts are available. LWB isn't. Goodmark has 'em. Mar-K has stepside components, I believe. There may be others. 88-98 Stepside beds can also be installed, but the rear wheel opening is different than the front wheel opening. Still the later-style body accent lines actually line up with the older body style.

Re: A/C, and some info PLEASE
If I can put it on 68 you can put it on 70. That being said it is not cheap, expect to pay at least 1k just for the parts if you want factory style. A little less if you can deal with an underdash system. As to the bed I know for a fact that Jim Carter Clasic Truck Parts has patches for metal beds.

Re: A/C, and some info PLEASE
Ron, I have a LWB metal floor out of my truck that I converted to wood it is mint. The bed came from Arizona the floor has been sitting outside and I'm sure it has surface rust it's in Coinjock NC at my mechanics shop and if you want it come get it. You can tell me what it's worth when you pick it up.
