What did you get done? 07/01

I spent Saturday at the beach watching my daughter and a partner play beach volleyball. She was invited to join a friend who's partner was out of town. They did pretty good considering this was her first time to compete on a sand court. They placed 3rd in their division.

Today I spent did a ton of maintenance on my pool since it has rained every day for 3 weeks. I dumped a few gallons of chemicals ($$) in it to try to get it back in shape. By mid day it looked pretty good, but my stupid Polaris isn't climbing the walls properly. My guess is a couple more bucks ($$$$$) and it will be good as new.

Later I disassembled my daughters old trampoline. It didn't seem like it had a gazillion pieces when I put it together. It sure did when I took it apart....

What did you get done?

Beach volleyball is totally different then indoor volleyball. They did pretty good!

After getting my yard work done, I didn't feel like doing much else! Stupid rains..

Re: What did you get done? 07/01

This weekend was all about the 84 c10.

Sat. installed the window regulator after pulling the dash pad out of the truck.

Put a cover on it, molded dash cap by accu-form, let that sit overnight and dry up.

Installed the missing piece of chrome trim around the grille/pass. headlight, and removed the tube grile to paint the radiator and support black.

All painted black and piece installed.

Dyed the cover today and reinstalled it in the truck this evening.

Re: What did you get done? 07/01

Most of my weekend was spent doing home improvements. Stained and poly'd 400+ feet of trim & casing, along with seven pre-hung solid core 4-panel oak doors. When that was finished, I began laying out and cutting our slate tiles...hope to install them this week.

Re: What did you get done? 07/01

I spent this weekend working.

Had my platoon out at a qualification range on Saturday and Sunday. I was working from 0630 to about 1800 both days... the 4th of July will be my first day off since last Sunday, and likely my last day off until mid-July. My brigade is currently training for the Expert Infantryman Badge.

After that it's on to collective training, with the focus on squad and platoon level urban operations.

On a truck-related note, my Silverado should arrive in Texas this Friday at the earliest.

Oh, and it's going to be in a magazine... more to follow.

Re: What did you get done? 07/01

Replaced thermostat, radiator and heater hoses and charged up A/C in my 79LB. Pulled the factory tach out and am taking it in for service tomorrow. Hope to have that back on Tuesday. Next up is rerouting the abortion of fuel lines that the PO did. That will have to wait until next weekend.

lol...had a 17 hour work day, then came home and cleaned the garage. No more gasket material, dust, cobwebs(after only 5 days of being neglected), or just massive clutter to where I couldn't move.

heh, I also played around with some paint

Got the exhaust done on the '83...Now I can hear all the header leaks...I just had the headers hooked up to the exhaust system that was already on the truck when I got it...Duals with 18" glass packs.. A little loud for that truck. Oh well, it'll do for now...

Re: What did you get done? 07/01

finally installed rear brakes in my truck, running off a manual adjustable line pressure valve too - I can now not only stop, but fine tune my brakes to my liking and not deal with factory settings that end up quite inadequate for towing applications or even rolling on tires of different sizes. Also fixed up the wood stakes on the bed, and did some painting in the engine bay. Ah, and slant-cut the exhaust pipe of my buddy's early-'90s GMC 1500, those have such a retarded-shaped factory exits it ain't even funny! Pics to follow soon...

Went to the Goodguys show in Nashville on Saturday also. Got sunburned also. Didn't get a free ride home, though.

tvblazer78, did you catch that guy in the Mustang pulling the left front about 6" off the ground a few times on that last left turn? Jeez! I took a pic with a disposable camera, so who knows how it will turn out. Saw a 72 primered SWB stepside in the swap meet section for $2800. Looked pretty straight and solid, too.

I got started on replacing the leaky exhaust on the burb and getting the A/C recharged/tested. Found the compressor was leaking through the housing, so we started on the exhaust. Got the old removed Sunday and Monday we got it completed.

Re: What did you get done? 07/01

i made arrangment to hide my truck, also made arrangements to strip it if i need to...but i might have found me a real peice of junk 3/4 that has a good title..while i was at it i asked my friend if i get a new timeing chani and altantor if he would do it for me since i cant do it..he said yeah i can do it,,and wont give me any grief over doing it..good thing to since i was working for him when i got hhurt, and shouldnt have been doing what i was to get hurt..but anyway,,i have had my truck for 5 yrs. its needed a tieming chain ever since i got it..but since i have only ut about 25 to 30,000 miles on it, i havent done it yet..hopeing to get it back up to at least 8mpg...i wish we were pulling the motor to replace all the gaskets..at least now i can get him to fix the new power steeering pump that has leaked ever since we put it on...anyway,,i feel better about the future of my truck...she may get a new identity,,but she will still be mine...
