Re: Tire size ?
you should be able to run 295s in the rear, sidewall will bulge a little but you ain't cornering with the rear tires so flex should not be significant. for the front 235 is way too narrow, I'd go for 255/60 there as that'll put the 8" wheel right in the middle of the tire manufacturer's recommendations so tread deformation and sidewall flex will be minimal and handling will be better.

Re: Tire size ?
I suspect that a 235/50 will be much too short for the front. It won't fill the fenderwell at all.

Re: Tire size ?
We just bought a set of 255/60's and put them on the new 15x8 wheels, they'd fill the wells nice with a drop...
I've personally seen a set of 275/60's on 8's and they looked awesome, very nice and fat.

Re: Tire size ?
I'm running BF.T/A's 295 50x15 out back and 275 50x15 up front. I was running 305's out back but BF. does not offer this size anymore.
esll.

Re: Tire size ?
and also i want the rear tire taller in the front because after my drop the rear ended up appearing lower with the same size tires all around. So i want a shorter tire in the front.

Ok here's the thing. I was already running BFG T/A's and the fronts are as new but the rears were needing to be replaced. I tried to get a set of BFG T/A's 305-50x15's for the rear as this is what I was running but BFG. no longer makes them. 295's are as wide as you can go in a 50's series tire. So I thought I would go big & tall as you are doing. So 60's rear & 50's front was my idea. Well in a 60 series I was informed 275's were the biggest available. So I chose to go the 50 series all around as this gave me 295's out back with 275 up front. 295's are 10cm less width then a 305 which is about the width of your baby finger. Quite frankly you can't tell. As far as rim size 15x8 front and 15x10 rear. esll.

Re: Tire size ?
Thanks malo83, but she needs dropped like yours and 85's I was thinking the exact same drop a 3/5 or just like 1-1/2 to 2 coils cut off the front and a flip kit out back. Just not sure about the stiffer ride in front, roads suck here and are rough.
If you want taller and wider in back I'd do like a 275 60 in the back, and then do like a 235 or so 60 in front. Or as you said like a 295 or 275 60 or 50 in back and then if you do say 60 in back do 50 in front, but it's not gonna make much difference really. The 255/60's I got are a tad shorter then the 235/75's I had on it.

Re: Tire size ?
They look sweet with the right suspension setup -- the rear end has to be low to keep it from looking like a stinkbug, ------ i forgot what size wheels you were going to run, but on 10's, it should still tuck tire. Your truck is low enough to run those tires now, but on a stock truck, they look pretty tall. The taller tire is mainly to give it a drag-type look The BFG's last a long time and are pretty close in height and width to a M/T 29 x 12.50 Sportsman Last edited by streetstar; 07-06-2007 at 12:54 AM. |

Re: Tire size ?
I personally like some beef under the massive wheel wells of these trucks. Here is the truck Bigarmzz used to own. It has 235/75/15 front and 285/70/15 rear with a 5/7 drop.

Re: Tire size ?
If he could run em with that drop you'd have no problem.
IMo too tall of a tire though, love the race car big and little look, but that tires raises the back up pretty good looks like to me. Not body to tire, but road to frame, around here with bad roads that's a good thing. I'd do a 285-295 and do a 50 or 60 if it was me, that way it aint real tall. Still looks awesome though. I love the 275's when I seen some 175/60's in person I fell in love with them, also seen a set of 295/50's in person and man they are fat, love them too, sidewall looked way to small to me though at least for a fullsize truck, they seemed to me to look best maybe on a car or s-10. A 60 series in a 295 would be nice. I think your choice would be a good one though 235's and 275's.

Re: Tire size ?
I personally think the 235/60's will look too small on your truck. If you want to run 60's, I would run a 275/60 rear and either a 245/60 or 255/60 front. A 225/70 looks good with a 275/60 rear also.
ocbaud, M&H Racemaster makes a 28" 275/50/17 drag radial. Look in Jeg's. Do you LOVE ME? Here is a pic of my truck with 275/60 and 255/60's but it's not lowered.

Re: Tire size ?
I wouldn't mind the 285's raising the rear some
with matching size tires the front appears higher than the rear and i like the slight rake look Heres the truck with 235/75's all around

Re: Tire size ?
68Stepbed,
Do you know what size and B/S rims those are on the truck pictured. Man I am REALLY diggin that. 85_swb IMHO, what you are thinking about would really work with your truck. I wouldn't go any less than the 235's in the front, thats gettin to be not much tire there to have plenty of stability @ that these trucks' weight. -$.02
