Exhaust for my 84

As some of you know I am in the process of swapping out the 305 in my truck for a 454. The current exhaust set-up is crappy bc it hangs below the frame. I only have a single hump tranny x-member. Has anyone fabricated their own xmember? Can I get some pics of the exhaust under the truck and doem side shots? What headers are you big block guys using? I want my exhaust fully tucked in the frame if possible, I got tired of hitting the headers in my old truck. My plans are to try and fit a x-pipe in there with 3" tubing/mufflers. The truck will be lowered at least 4/6.

Re: Exhaust for my 84

No '84, but still a single-hump tranny crossmember - solution to my problems turned out to be in the form of Headman Hedders S-pipes. If I were to run a crossover and I had a garage I'd drop the tranny crossmember, get another one off a junker truck, cut both in half, match them up and weld them back again, so I end up with one double-hump crossmember and one double-dip crossmember. Which one I use would depend on the headers - high headers (like I currently have) would get the double-dip crossmember as the exhaust would have a straight shot towards the back along the tranny and over the crossmember, low headers would require use of the double-hump crossmember as piping will need to be routed under it. Hope that helps:
