Interior Door Pull Strap Removal - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

For those of you with the interior door pull straps--how do you remove the black plastic covers with the brushed aluminum inserts to get access to the screws to remove the door strap pulls? Small screw driver? Knife blade?

These things must be fragile, because the PO messed up a few already removing them.

Push the closed end gently to release the tab, and rotate towards the center.

Not to hijack the thread,... But the chrome covers are still available from GM but the burgundy/maroon straps are not. Does anyone have a source for new straps?

lmc or yearone shuld help you if not you could alway get them colored.
