Front end install
I started to install the fenders, wheel wells and core support today. It sure is hard to install the fender by myself. I'm having trouble aligning some of the core holes with the fender. All the bolts are loose because adjustements will be made once the hood is back one.
I installed the starter today too. I found a thermostat housing for serpentine upper radiator hose. The heater hoses are now connected. I'll take pictures once the radiator is installed tomorrow. The biggest project will be the tranmission lines. Once again, I'll have to be creative to route new lines. |

what kind of lines are you goign to be using?
the only thing i have left to buy to make the truck road worthy again is the tach, speedo, and tranny cooler + lines and fittings. i was gonna do it like mike did on his truck with the braided line. |

QUOTE] yeah, its kinda a *****, , ------- next time you could try making a makeshift dolly out of a few pieces of wood with some carpet remnants on it to keep it from ruining the paint - then attaching that to a floor jack to help steady it at one end or the other |

That is a good idea G, I would hate for you to put a scratch on that one off paint job.

I'm going to order some spray cans for touch up. I'll probably cause a few scratches as I try to fit everything back on.

I installed the other fender today. It was easier since I learned from installing the passenger side fender. The body lines I think actually look better too! I removed some shims and left most of the bolts snug.
I wanted to install the transmission lines today. Well, I need to install a lot of stuff just to get the lines plumbed. After today's progress, now I'm ready to plumb the lines. I went and bought some steel braided hoses. $204! OUCH!! I'm routing the pressure hose to the radiator, then the external cooler to the tranny. The lines will have to wait till next week. I do need help installing the hood!! A little wiring and fuel is all I need to start up the ZZ4. Here are the pictures from today. |
