parts truck with tilt colum???????
I know a guy who is selling a 72 parts truck. It has an auto tilt wheel that isn't pretty because the truck has been sitting for a long long time The colum needs cleaning and maybe paint I would have to get a better look but the tilt works good. it's the only thing i checked out
($100)......the truck isn't worth anything to me it is junk. no good body parts at all. the engine is trash and no trans.....I'm not interested in selling it for scrap. He will sell it to me for 100.00 obo. I don't know much about the tilt colum except that they seem hard to find. It may be a bit of a hassle to tow..not a single good tire on it. I'm not pressed for tilt steering and my truck is already an auto trans/colum. Do you think it's worth the hassle and money to get it for the steering colum. I don't know if it has a posi rear. The colum looks stock to me. I would have to get a better look but i'm pretty sure it is. I may ask him if he will sell just the colum and wire harness for the tail lights (mine is spliced). Do you guys think this is worth the hassle of towing and having someone pick up the truck when i'm done? No power breaks. no power steering parts. really this is the only good part other than the uncut non ac dash. |

Re: parts truck with tilt colum???????
the truck is worth almost 200 in scrap.
So you'd MAKE $100 profit, AND a tilt wheel for a few hrs of your time. I think that DEFINES win/win situation. |

Re: parts truck with tilt colum???????
the scrap yard isn't very close to me so I don't plan to get any money back in scrap. I just didn't know if the tilt is worth the hassle of towing the truck and then giving the left over's away....everything except for the wiring harness and tilt would be left over.

The first truck I saw with a tilt I bought for $600,swapped columns, and sold for $600 by the end of the week.I felt great about that.
