Question

I'm trying to take the dash out of my 65 and I have taken all the bolts out that need to come out, pulled and pry ed on it and it did not come out. Does seal around windshield need to be out in order for it to come out? Suggestions?

Yes you have to take out the windshield..........you not only have to take the bolts out but you have 20 some pinch welds that you have to drill out around the windshield opening.........did the same thing on my suburban............................was not too much fun but can be done...........Hemmit

I suggest you treat your dash like a ONE piece unit w/ your cab. If your gonna make it show material maybe take it out. A buddy of mine took his out and made a lot of cut and some metal ripping. It was not EZ or clean to take it out. Lots of sheet metal repair welding/griding afterwards. Good luck.

I would also suggest you take it out as one piece.........drill out the spot welds......................if you're taking it out because of where your radio is cut up I would suggest just replacing that part of your dash................Most companies carry that section of dash for that purpose........Hemmit

Man.....that can be a *#@#&*!!! If your not realy careful, you'll cause more damage that it's worth. Be careful and if you have to, get a budy shop involved. Good Luck!
