how short should I cut my bed?
I have a 1968 GMC stepside longbed and I'm planning on cutting the bed and chassis... I'm wondering if I should make it exactly like a stock shortbed, or if I should cut the bed shorter/longer?

Just an idea, but how about cut a long fleetside bed into a 7' bed? People would wonder WTF that is.

I'm just trying to think of what would look best... and I don't want a longbed because I want to make the truck a speed demon...

my realitivly mild 67 long bed just ran 14.88, with a real restrictive exhaust..so you can go fast with a LWB

Get rid of the steps ( see below) and cut the bed and frame so the fenders are right behind the cab. Better weight transfer for traction on hole shots that will be needed for the high torque i6-3spd combo. If needed I have a used wheelie bar setup for a leaf spring rear.
Wanted lwb steps for 67-72, possible trade for ?
