Exhuast headers question
If I install headers on my 283 what will i do about the alternator support thats built into the manifolds?

Most Performance Catalogs Have A Bracket That Works For That Situation . Summit, Jegs, And The Other Companies Sell Them With The Exhaust Kits. Those Headers Will Help That 283 Breath. Good Luck !!

you could swap your cyl. heads for the 305 ho heads and upgrade your engine and then have accessorie bolt holes. good swap for a 283

I made one from an old stock manifold stud [2" long I think] and two nuts on an Elky once. The two nuts are spun on together right where the mount needs to be. Not sure what your bracket needs to be shaped like, but if it was bolted right to the manifold that should work well for you.
