67/68 and 69-72 dash changes
I was doing some cleaning in my shop today and had a few dash's to put up in the attic when I noticed some changes. I was not aware that their were any changes in the dash's from 67-72 but in looking at some of mine I saw that the ash tray's are different between 68 and 69's as well as the key bezel and cig lighter. The 69 and up have a recessed area around teh lighter and the key bezel is larger as well.
What other slight differances are their not including the small back window on most of the 67's, the front end changes between the years and parking brake style? Kevin LFD Inc. |

Re: 67/68 and 69-72 dash changes
I am in no way an expert on 67-68's but..... I was in a salvave yard this weekend and noticed a small window with a dash that had no cutout for the radio. no radio delete plate like in 69-72's, nothing, just smooth. thought that was very cool.
HOWEVER the po/someone threw 2" gauges in this area years earlier and cluttered it up..... |

I think the face of the ash tray is thinner on the '67s also. LockDoc

Re: 67/68 and 69-72 dash changes
I believe that may be 67 only with the small key hole. I think the ash tray hardware may also be spot welded in place on the 67. I also think the blazer may be different with no speaker cut out on top. The 67 glove box doors had slightly different hardware also. I will add to it if i think of more. Eric

Re: 67/68 and 69-72 dash changes
I am a slow typer. Your second question would be wipers, headlights, choke (on 67-68) Possibly manual throttle. Rear A/C on burbs. Boy, you are making me think tonight...

Re: 67/68 and 69-72 dash changes
So it was only 67's? Were 68's like 67's or 69's?

Re: 67/68 and 69-72 dash changes
I think 68s were the same through 72. 67 also had its own knob style.

Re: 67/68 and 69-72 dash changes
Growing up my dad had a 67 fleet. I remember the ignition bezel being much smaller and the vent window had a totally different kind of opener on it.

Re: 67/68 and 69-72 dash changes
`67 dash was unique in places mentioned and`68-up all the same. The mirror and mount are unique, too. There were 3 different designs in the ashtray tracks,`67 unique as well as the tray itself.The`67 had about as many carry-over`66 parts in the interior as `68-up parts in common.
