Search this site for info real easy
I have notice a lot of guys with low post counts lately (like mine is high or something) but it seems like there are a lot of questions being asked over and over. What I do is bookmark the ones I like, so I have a library of stuff for reference, but the other thing you can do before you throw out a question is look at this link - http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=253591
It tells you how to look stuff up, through google, specifically to this site. It's really helped me a lot. When you start using it, you realize that there is very little that has not been covered. Try it.

Re: Search this site for info real easy
That usually works pretty good but even the mods have admitted the search engine is a little out of wack right now and needs maint. on it to do so they would have to shut the site down for several hours. I try and run a several searchs but still come up empty at times.

I agree with your saying, but I gotta agree with ksjh1316 that the search function pretty much sucks!

there are several questions that get asked repeatedly and you can find a ton of info using search. "paint codes" are a common question. lowering questions are a one-a-day thing. there are probably dozens more. i think the OP (original poster) is simply trying to say to everyone: search first. if you spend more than 15-20 minutes searching with no luck, THEN post. this is generally accepted as "proper" etiquette on the internet.

Another good source of info is the FAQ. Try the index link in my signature.

I agree with dan42 100%. It's as if some members want their concerns answered personaly, this would not be so bad if it were some what technical but really another "what muffler are you guys running", or who has the best after market this or that. I've seen these questions asked under new posts and 5 or 6 pages back on the 67 - 72 board they have been asked and answered by other members. Sorry I'm starting to rant .... please forgive me but it does get dull after while. esll.

Yeah but it does allow those of us with "limited knowledge" to look pretty smart to the new guys.

Re: Search this site for info real easy
Searching is all fine n good, and if you read the original link posted, it tells how to get more results.
Please dont turn this into a use search bash. that isn't what the original poster intended, nor is it right. we have always said if you have a question ask. If you as a member know the question has been asked, then go ahead and link the user to that post or posts.

Re: Search this site for info real easy
I don't mind answering posts that have been asked lots of times, sometimes you even get a new perspective on something. If you see a question being asked a lot, you don't have to open that thread
Let's not forget a lot of people on here aren't internet junkies like a lot of us are and aren't "familiar" with forum etiquette and rules (my pops is one of 'em).
