cab mounts
I bought a 1972 k-10 4x4 and while striping down I found out it had a 69 2wd cab on it. Well i pulled the cab off the front 2 cab mounts on the body have been cut out for some reason. Is this have to be done to mount a 2wd cab on a 4x4 frame or does the have to be done at all? will add pics if i need to later

Re: cab mounts
Welcome from Indiana
Not Sure i Follow what you are Saying, Where is it cut at? Only thing that Come's to Mind is with 2x4 Cab you won't have the clearance needed for the Tranny & Transfer Case, Is that the Area that it was cut at?? Probably gonna have to Post a Pic to Get the Right Answer............. Rick

Re: cab mounts
There's no reason to cut the front mounts. The rear mounts are in different locations for 2X 1/2T vs 4X or 3/4T

Re: cab mounts
Does anyone have a drawing of the differences? With what to do to correct the mounts to fit the 4WD frame mounts?

Re: cab mounts
The cab mounts on the cab should all be the same for 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton.
The rear mounts on the frame are at different heights, they use taller rubber mounts on 3/4 tons. |
