1969 C50
There is a 1969 C50 for sale in my area that the owner claims is a 5 ton truck. Now, I don't know much about the bigger old trucks, but I thought a C50 was a 2 ton? Can anyone clear this up for me?

I knew the first 3 designations...what comes after C50? Is there a 5 ton truck, and, if so, what is its designation? Thanks.

There are C/60s,C/70s,C/80s,and C/90s,I think.I believe a Titan is a 90.

I have noticed that people get confused sometimes on designations and actual hauling capacity. So it is important to know if some one is talking about designation or actual hauling capacity.
I have what I think is a 2.5 ton dump truck (C-6500) that has a GVW of 33,200 lbs. It has an extra axle in front of the rear axle and a 12 ft dump bed. Here is a picture of the one I have, of course it is a little newer('77) and has a tilt cab. Danny - Southeast Missouri |
