Re: 69 6lug swap
Contact Early Classic Enterprises, McGaughey's, etc., for their kits....look on-line and you'll see what comes in the kit. You can get these kits in 5 or 6-lug style.
Some aftermarket kits use the original tie rod ends, some don't. That's supposed to be a selling point. When using used components, 1971-72 trucks will have all the right stuff if you find one that is worthy of getting parts off of, but they're 5-lug. There are those who will tell you that you can swap in a cross-member from the front of 1973-87's (I think I'm right) and also have later model 5-lug stuff. I don't know if any of the 88-up crossmembers are swappable onto these frames, or not. Never saw any posts or heard anyone ask.

Re: 69 6lug swap
Are those 88-up 3/4-ton 2WD rotors 6-lug?? I seem to remember seeing 6-lug wheels on my brother-in-laws 88 or 89 Chevy 2500.
This is good info. Thanks!

Re: 69 6lug swap
Yep. Half ton 2wd (5 bolt with 1 1/4 rotors) have the same spindle length as 2wd 3/4 (6 bolt).

Re: 69 6lug swap
The 6 lug 3/4 tons are the lighter GVWR, so be aware that not all 88 - up's have 6 lug rotors. A lot of them have 8 lug rotors. I only mention this so no one buys anything from a 88 - up 3/4 ton truck sight-unseen!

Re: 69 6lug swap
I looked it up, and the 7200# GVWR trucks have 6 lug and the 8600# GVWR trucks have 8 lugs. You will need to specify when buying new.
