New to these trucks.

Having some issues witht the headers I bought for my 67. The motor looks like it is to far forward and that is causing a lot of issues with the headers clearing the perches. My ? is, do I have the wrong perches or do I just need to break out the blue wrench, grinder and welder? I thought the first exhaust port should be on top of the perch. And mine sits in between the first two. My dist. is literally 7-8 inches from the firewall. Any help we be appreciated.

Re: New to these trucks.

most likely motor is in correct location when you put it in the 6cyl spot it goes to close to the firewall to the point you can't pull the motor till you remove the dizzy. the framerails in the 67 are wider than the 68 and up you just have to take out the grinder and get to work.

Re: New to these trucks.

I bought the cheapie headers from Summit Racing for my 70 w/350 and they fit with no alterations , I measured 7" from top of valve cover to firewall hope this helps.
