Lowering a 71 C/10

Coils on all 4 currently, not sure if that is standard or not. It looks to be a little lower than most I see, but I think that its just worn out springs. What is the easiest/cheapest way about this? Heres a current pic

lowering coils is the easiest way to get a drop... do you still have drums all around
mine sits about the same height as yours

Disc up front, drums in the rear

easiest and cheapest? from the looks of the weather there. just load the bed full of snow,lol. mine had heated coils on it when i got it. but i dont like the ride and am changing to different springs up front and coilovers in the rear

sense you have discs, i would get drop spindles first... see how you like it, and add springs if you want more drop

Cheapest and Easiest would be coils in front and blocks in rear. Or you can cut your stock front springs a little.

Forgive me for being a noob to modding trucks, but what do blocks do in the rear. Also, who would you guys recommend for springs and/or drop spindles. I dont have to get the very best out there, I'm just wanting a nice weekend cruiser, not a show truck. Just dont wanna get some el cheapo stuff either

I've bought springs from LMC and I know I'll get slammed for saying this but the dropped spindles on my 71 I bought on eBay and came from AirBagit.com. I think they are actually Chassis tech spindles and I know they have a terrible reputation, but they actually looked better and are made beefier than my stock spindles that I took off. I bought them before I heard anything about Chassis tech stuff being junk and so far so good and only about $180 shipped. I know they are probably inferrior materials and blah blah blah, but I'll form my own opinion based on my experience. They might break tomorrow, but I don't expect they will. Let the begin.

i have a set of blocks in the shop that i was gonna use for somehting different do they really work on our trucks? to help lower it. if so i may use them.

Early Classic Enterprises seems to a board favorite for lowering parts. They're not the cheapest, but they know their parts and back them up with great service.

Lowering the rear of these trucks is a breeze mechanically speaking. The way my body felt, it may disagree.............the front is easy but depending on the drop you may want to combine components..........also consider the streets in your area if you are pushing the limits on ground clearance. I used to pic up road kill in a slammed Blazer!!! I highly recommend replacing shocks also. I just did a CPP kit in my 'burb and it rides incredibly well. I liked the kit because it came w/ everything! Unless you can excercise restraint, you will wish it was lower as soon as you get finished; or shortly thereafter!!!!!

If your not sure what ride height you want, just look at post's throughout the site. I would call Early Classics and get a complete drop kit once you decide what height you want. They have spindles, coils and everything you need to do the job right. They also have pictures on their website of trucks that were lowered with their kits.
