Re: aftermarket steering columns?
I put an Ididit column in another project i had and it was great. The workmanship was top notch. I did the polished alum so the cost was spendy, but if your going to do it... Do it right.

Re: aftermarket steering columns?
If you spend some time you can find a factory tilt column for a floor shift truck. They are rather rare, but they can be had.

Re: aftermarket steering columns?
I just bought an IDIDIT column for the 72 4x4 4speed. It is stainless. I haven't had a chance to put it in yet. It was 399 plus shipping.
I also bought an automatic original tilt for my 71. It came from a guy off this site for 275 plus shipping. I'll get them put in as soon as I get over the flu. john

Re: aftermarket steering columns?
Just do it the way street rodders have for years, pick up a $50 tilt out of just about anything and adapt it to work in your turck. I put a tilt from a 85 Astro in my 66 last night. Takes a little fab work to do it but I've still got the other $250 in my pocket to use on soemthing else

Re: aftermarket steering columns?
I put a Flaming River tilt column in my 66 Chevelle and it works and looks great. Got it off Ebay from Flaming River distributor. Saved about $50 under Summit's price.
