Re: Wheel Question

It would kind of make sense that the 5 lug started with disc brakes.

Not to hijack this thread, but I have a question for you guys running stock wheels: What is the rim width, and what size (section) tire are you running? I was looking at wheels on Jim Carter's site last night (I'm trying to get back to stock from the horrid wheels that on my 64 right now), and they stated that their "stock type" wheel was 5" wide. I guess I can believe the narrow width, but what options does that give for tire size? Thanks.

Re: Wheel Question

Ditto on 71 for the 5 lug. That is when they switched to disc brakes. 1/2 tons used 6 lug before 71. 3/4 & 1 tons were all 8 lug for ages.
