6 piston discs???

Is anyone running 6 piston disc brakes? If so who supplied the caliper and did you have to do anything special to hook it up? I've tried all of the major suppliers that I'm aware of (Baer, Wilwood, Brembo, & CPP) and come up empty.

did you try Stainless Steel Brakes? I thought i remeber seein some on ther website

Those brakes are only compatible back to a 99 Silverado and they only have 6 & 8 lug applications. When I called Wilwood they said that they were in development with CPP on an application for the 67-72 C-10's, but the guy didn't have any more detail than that -- neither did CPP tech support.

Also, didn't see anything by SSBC.

CPP should be along any time now, as well as another well known manufacturer that retro-fits Corvette brakes. They allow you to use the C6 Z06 brakes on stock or dropped spindles...

Initial fit from that other "well known manufacturer" looks positive.

I sent a few observations (read.... "I wish this ...."). This was just the 2-piston 40mm floating calipers & 13.4" rotors though. Theoretically, the larger 14" Z06 stuff should be easier to adapt because everything is moved further out from the spindles C/L. I didn't have the coin for 14" rotors & they would have been overkill for my beater anyway.

I had some of those 6 piston corvette calipers sitting around and put them on my 2 piston Baer set up.
From what I can tell....... Once Scoti's guys get the hubs on the market it should be pretty easy to adapt to the 6 piston, 14" rotors.
The only problem we have ever encountered with these big corvette calipers is the wheel fitment.
The calipers are so fat they hit the wheels spokes. We fix this with a 3/16 spacer in most cases but I'm sure there are wheels out there that will not have this fitment problem.

Baers GT And GT-Plus use the PBR C5 calipers.
That big 6 piston PBR caliper has the same mounting hole spacing as the C5 caliper. If I remember the holes were like 3.5 center to center.

Ok they were sitting around but belonged to a 2002 chevy truck at the shop..... I reluctantly had to give them back.........but I had to keep them a few extra nights and hold them while watching TV.

I am going to be running the C6 ZO6 brakes. I was curious to see if the brakes will fit with my rims so i did a search and found this template showing the overall width of the 6 piston calipers. It is a pdf file but tells you how much space you must have to clear the calipers.
