Spring/shock install - my sad sad options
I dont have a driveway or garage at the moment... so I need to ask for help.
Option 1: Loud Dave. Has airtools, no lift. Means listening to him ADD talk to me for about 6 hours while I help as well. 6 hours, painful on the back, and dave kind of sucks, but its free. Option 2: Mustang Dave. Works at NTB, does stuff on the side. Hates help, likes money. Talking $200 Option 2 was my choice, but was a little more than I wanted to spend.. was thinking more 120ish. What do yall think? |

Re: Spring/shock install - my sad sad options
In your situation, I'd probably endure Loud Dave. However, I have done the kind of work you are talking about in a junk yard with no concrete, no garage and no air tools, so I would do it myself personally.

Re: Spring/shock install - my sad sad options
Considering your predicament. Option1. Dave must be an alright guy who likes you or he wouldn't be willing to use his tools and help you for free. And that $200 for option 2 can be spent on more things for your truck. Or better yet offer Dave something for helping you! That help goes both ways ya know.

Option 1, give Dave a couple of bucks or beer or something and get the added bonus of learning a little more than you know now. Plus Dave may not be such a bad guy after you spend 6 hours with him.

Re: Spring/shock install - my sad sad options
Good news - found another alternative!
Bought air tools and borrowing a friend (striker169 on here) to help out this weekend. $330 more into the tool fund, oh well. |

I was gonna say, sounds like you aren't fond of either option, so I would say to try to find a way to DIY. Sounds like you already did. Way to go!

Also, since I used my freshly minted sears card - I have buyer protection out the ass, so I *could* return it when I am done. (yes, I would feel sheepish about that) The compressor I got: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...l.+Compressors |
