I have a 93 Blazer with the push-button 4WD. A couple of years ago I had to have the motor replaced that does the actual switching into 4WD.
I don't know much about it other than it is a pretty expensive part to replace. At the time I had a shop to it and I believe it was $400 to $500 dollars. Good luck.

That is the most common problem with those systems. The motor that does the actual shifting of the transfer case.
