Ever seen one on the showcase stand at a used car lot?

I saw this blinged out chevy at this crappy used car lot by the railroad tracks. The paint was cheap, but it looked good, the wheels were way to big, the chrome was nice and it had a small block and th350.

They were asking $16,500!, lol

Right after I got there this salesman comes up to me and tells me
"It has a Camaro front end"
I tell him "It has drum brakes."
He says "Well, its not a newer Camaro, an older camaro."
Now I am thinking, why would anyone change the front end and keep drum brakes.
I take another quick look at the truck and notice it has 6 lug wheels so I tell him
"Its the stock front end."

And his reply "Well the owner is here if you want to ask him about it"
I said "No thanks" and left. Why are salesmen such idiots! Gawd, they will say anything!

I thought all the camaros that had the 409 tri-power option with the hydramatic tranny had six lug drum breaks!

Salesman say what they want, because they can and most prospective buyers do not know the difference, to call them on it.

Not if it has 6 lug hubs/brakes. Never offered on a Camaro and the spindles are different bearing sizes so you can't swap over to a six lug setup.

I like the color but the wheels would have to go. He could probably get $16,500.00 if it had the "Rare Corvette Option Package". Used car salesmen are right up there with lawyers and oil tycoons.

Looks like this truck needed more hope. Thus the billboard in the background.

The body of the truck looks pretty straight, but definitely lose the wheels!

Salesmen are such bull sh**ers....

Re: Ever seen one on the showcase stand at a used car lot?

Salesmen are both Bullsh***ers and morons! I once went with a friend to pick up a used Honda civic from a Honda dealer. It was a hot summer day so after she signed all of the paperwork the salesman went out and started it up and said "Let me just get the AC going to cool it down in here" he put the temp control on the cold side and flipped the fan on high, and couldn't figure out why it wasn't blowing cold air. It didn't have AC!!!!!!!

Re: Ever seen one on the showcase stand at a used car lot?

I agree the 6 lug is pretty sure bet it's got a stock front end, but just playing devils advocate here...67-69 Camaro's did have drum brakes up front and it's pretty easy to redrill the lug pattern to 6 lugs to match a rear axle bolt pattern. Very highly unlikely, but definetly doable although I wouldn't understand why on earth anyone would do such a thing. Still yet it is possible if someone wanted to.
