power windows stopped working in my 78 truck

Does anyone know where the fuse is for the power windows in a 1978 chevy truck are? I don't see anything obvious marked on the fuse block?? Anyway both just stopped simultaneously so figure its a fuse. Thanks

There is no fuse for the power windows. There is however a 30 amp circuit breaker located in your fuse block that is silver in color and fairly obvious as to its location when you look at your fuse block. It'll stick out like a sore thumb next to all the old school glass fuses in there.
If replacing the C.B. doesn't work then the most likely cause besides a bad switch would be fatigued/broken wires in the door jamb area inside the rubber boot between the doors and body from years of constant opening and closing of the doors especially in the winter.

Re: power windows stopped working in my 78 truck

I don't see anything like a circuit breaker...just the emergency flasher can. and certainly nothing plugged into the fuse box. I did see a dangling set of wires and connector that has a relay plugged into it. I took the cover off and the contact points are black so that's probably it?? anyway if you have a picture of this "30 amp breaker" I would to see what it looks like because I don't see it on my truck. thanks

I have looked till my eyes hurt and I can't find this circuit breaker on the fuse block!! I took the door panel off and tested the wires coming into the door swtich and no 12 volts....so I'm not getting power. Is there some other location they might have put the circuit breaker on a 1978?
